About this project

STX needed a comprehensive platform for consumers to trade their CO2 certificates quickly. This platform required a mobile application for scanning certificates, integration with government systems, and a robust management environment. However, they lacked the time, personnel, and technical expertise to develop this in-house.

The challenge

STX needed a comprehensive platform that would allow consumers to trade their CO2 certificates quickly and easily, in order to gain a clear competitive advantage. The platform needed to consist of a mobile app for scanning certificates, an integration with government systems, and a robust management environment. Due to a lack of time, capacity, and specific technical expertise, it was not feasible for STX to develop this internally.

Our solution

Stekz developed and delivered a complete Software as a Service (SaaS) platform consisting of:

  • A B2C mobile application for scanning and submitting certificates
  • A comprehensive management environment for internal use and operational control
  • A partner portal for collaboration with external parties
  • Seamless integrations with existing data, systems, and processes, including connections with government systems

A core component of the solution is the AI-driven analysis tool. This processes certificates that customers photograph via the mobile app. The innovative 'AI street' automatically recognises, reads, and validates the certificates, making verification fast, accurate, and scalable.

  • A fully operational trading platform for CO2 certificates that went live in a short period of time
  • AI-driven verification of certificates based on photos, with greater accuracy and less manual work
  • Seamless integration with relevant government systems and existing processes
